Today, the Dominicans serve the Estonian people in a secularized society by offering various initiatives to bring hope and joy through the Catholic faith.
Liturgies are held daily in the Dominican chapel. Efforts are made to translate and publish works by Dominican authors. Visiting lecturers and retreat leaders are invited to give talks. Personal spiritual guidance and preparation for the sacraments, including baptism, are offered. There is a group for young Catholics, open to new members, and more.
In 2025, the Dominicans, also known as the Order of Preachers, along with laypeople, will organize on September 4–5, 2025, a continuous reading of the 22 600 names of Estonians who died as a result of communist repression. This is directly connected to the beatification of Archbishop Eduard Profittlich on September 6. This is yet another example of how we strive to create a connection with the entire Estonian society.
